Stevenson Ridge Winter Wedding
From the first time I met Travis & Keely I knew that they were going to be awesome to work with! They were friends with several of my past clients and had even attended a wedding I photographed last year. We met at Kybecca downtown for drinks and chatted for hours. I learned that they met through a mutual friend and dated a little and then just became friends. Years later they decided to try dating again and knew it was meant to be!
When I asked Keely her favorite memory from when they first started dating she replied “the butterflies in my stomach when I would wait for him to pick me up or waiting for him to respond to my texts”. Oh I remember those days and those butterflies! I asked Travis the same question and learned a hilarious story of a pie making contest around the holidays where Travis had Key Limes shipped in just for his pie and Keely didn’t’ like it! Um Travis next time you wanna make an awesome Key Lime pie you can just send that over my way, lol!!
Keely & Travis took their inspiration from the icy weather and planned a winter wedding at Stevenson Ridge. Inspired by lush winter greens, icy blues and silver and of course snowflakes! Keely & her mom made the adorable wreaths carried by the flower girls with fresh greens clipped from her sister’s yard. Travis’s mom sewed a dark blue velvet rosette for the ring box the morning of the ceremony. I love details like that of an entire family coming together to show their love through handmade items!
One of Travis’s favorite memory of the day was “Writing my wine box letter the morning of was one of my favorite memories, I can’t wait for her to read it.” Keely said “The moment right before my Dad walked me down the aisle was very intense. I remember my heart pounding in my ears and when I made it to the front I took Trav’s hands and I felt much more relaxed.”
This definitely has to be the coldest wedding day I’ve ever photographed! They lucked out that the only snowflakes that were seen were the favors on the tables. I have to give huge props to not only Keely & Travis but to their entire bridal party for braving the frigid temperatures so we could do outdoor portraits. You guys all rock!!!
