There is always a moment during a wedding where I get choked up, the emotions are overwhelming and I promise you they are tears of joy. The moment during James and Karen’s Lewis Ginter Gardens wedding occurred when she and her dad arrived at the end of the aisle and she could see James. I watched her hand come up to her mouth as the tears started to flow and she said ”Oh my God, this is really happening”. The months of planning, the excitement of the day and the moment that choked me up had arrived. Her dad just squeezed her arm and they walked down the aisle. It was a beautiful moment!
I had some time with Karen before the ceremony at the Hotel Sierra to do portraits the lobby. I have been dying to go back and shoot there since I first laid eyes on the awesome decor. I had a blast photographing Karen amongst the unique elements! In particular the cool coral colored spikey things, no clue what they were but they looked fun! Karen was game for everything, I love brides that like to explore with me!
This was my first wedding at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and it was absoluutely beautiful! Karen and James held their ceremony in the rose garden and I can’t think of a more perfect setting for them. Big thanks to Mike Topham Photography for bringing me along to second shoot!
Congratulations Karen and James!
