Glasgow Farm Wedding Style Shoot
Last April I teamed up with Becca from Becca Bee Events to plan a garden party wedding styled shoot at Glasgow Farm! Styled shoots can be fun because you get to come up with an idea and then plan a mini wedding around it. I love working with planners on these shoots because they keep everyone running on schedule and are on top of all the details. Becca was amazing! She actually put together a timeline for all the vendors just for this shoot, that was a total first for me! All I could think was if she put this much effort into keeping a style shoot on track imagine how fabulous she would be for a real wedding. Seriously brides I highly recommend checking her out, www.beccabeeevents.com! I have an interview with her coming up on the blog soon so check back for that.
Glasgow Farm is a newer wedding venue here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I really love that they are a few miles away from me so when I shoot a wedding there I have a short commute! The barn is really neat with fairy lights upstairs that I just love and a patio outside the barn doors with more fairy lights. I had this idea of our table setup under the fairy lights outside and shooting close to sunset to capture the romantic ambiance. But Mother Nature had an entirely different plan, she was ready to unleash some Spring showers on us to get those flowers growing. It did not just rain it poured, like monsoon rainshowers. The kind that requires you to drive through puddles you are pretty sure will swallow your car and you think about all the times you’ve heard don’t drive through standing or rushing water. After watching one youtube video where a road completely washed out in a matter of minutes I pay very close attention to that stuff now.
We managed to pull it together though and moved inside right in front of the doors to get beautiful light coming in! Huge thanks to my girls at Paisley & Jade for braving the elements with our vintage furniture! A few of my other favorite vendors joined us for this shoot too – Fat Girl Cakes, Chikpea Graphics, Casey and Adrian the beauty and brains behind local startup Sprelly, and Formal Envy who supplied not one but 2 dresses and a tux for us.
Chikpea Graphics rocked these invitations featuring the look of hand lettering. I thought they were so pretty I’ve used a photo of them as the backdrop for my laptop since the shoot!
