After 10 wonderful years photographing weddings I have moved on to Maternity, Newborn and Family sessions. I am no longer taking on any weddings as of 2019. Feel free to be inspired by my past wedding couples as you plan your own wedding!
2017 Favorite Wedding Photos | Fredericksburg Va Wedding Photographer
Sometimes people are surprised to hear that I don’t travel to DC for weddings. What they don’t know is that being a Fredericksburg Va Wedding Photographer is better because I get AMAZING weddings and I don’t have to sit in i95 weekend traffic! Hallelujah! How cow I actually spelled that right on the first try!
This year was especially awesome as I was out at Stevenson Ridge for 3 different weddings! I can still remember touring the Lodge before the floors were installed. Yes, that is how far back we go, lol! I also had the pleasure of being back out at the Silk Mill and seeing the updates they’ve made to the facility over the years, I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding out there in 2012 which I think was their first year as a venue. Their new indoor chapel is beautiful and a fabulous alternative in case of rain. We have the best wedding venues here in Fredericksburg so there is no need to go anywhere else!
I haven’t done a year in review post in awhile so I thought now was the perfect time to bring it back. I tried really hard to narrow things down for you guys but c’mon this is wedding porn for brides! Hopefully, it will help inspire them with their wedding planning and I get to tell you why I love these shots the most!

I adore ring shots! Especially when I can get the rings to stand up and I get all four prongs in focus!
I love a good black and white photo and Jess makes a STUNNING bride! I love how happy her bridesmaids look in this moment too!
How gorgeous are these bouquets in shades of pink by Enchanted Petals?!? I’m reminded of Steel Magnolias and the colors are Blush & Bashful!
This had been a bit of a tough day as one of Jessica’s bridesmaids and one of my past brides had gotten sick and was taken to the hospital. Thankfully she was ok but I know for all of these ladies a piece of their heart was missing. They pulled together though and took care of Jessica and to me, this photo is the outward expression of that.
I’m participating in Stevenson Ridge’s bridal show next month and when I polled my FB fans this image won hands down as one I needed to print for the show. As I recall everyone commented on how Sean is looking at his new wife!
What is more fun than a happy groom dipping his new bride? Nothing and in black and white I just get all the feels!
Yes, more black and white photos because I love them! Did you know I started out in black and white film photography? Yep, and it stuck! So the photo on the left combines my love of architecture, leading lines and romance in one photo! On the right, we have a groom’s portrait that belongs in GQ magazine. Am I right ladies?
I may have jumped up and down and squealed when I took this shot! Her dress looks perfect, I love the movement and the light! Aaagghhh it’s perfection!!!!
A beautiful dress, a bouquet with drapey ribbons and hello a Christmas tree in the background! I am now wishing I got married in December instead of July! Jane Guerin Florals and I share a love of bouquets with ribbon so I love working with her because I know there will be gorgeous silk ribbons!!
New favorite groom’s detail shot! Rented shoes never looked better! The hard part was keeping my shoes out of the reflection too! I carried that love of mirrors over to Keely getting ready and captured her seeing herself dressed as a bride for the first time!
Another FB fan favorite! Travis looks so handsome leading Keely and once again all the ladies loved how he is looking at her!
My new favorite spot at Stevenson Ridge! Perfect for quick photos when it’s below freezing outside!
This a favorite because these guys were TROOPERS! It was freezing on this wedding day, actually, it was below freezing I believe. I tried to be quick to get them back inside and one of the bridesmaids told me not to worry I was doing fine and they were ok. How awesome was she!!!
I love a good exit shot! I especially love Keely’s bouquet in the air in triumph!
You are probably tired of black and white photos by now but I just love all these glasses in the air toasting a wonderful couple!
After their mother-son dance the dance floor opened up but Travis spotted me and grabbed his mom for one more hug! Love it!
Again I nailed the balancing ring act! I branched out this wedding to find a new spot for Amelia’s dress and amazing cathedral length veil to be shown off, it might be a new favorite spot now! This purple velvet chair always steals my heart, it just looks so rich! The perfect backdrop for Amelia’s bouquet by Amanda Veronee!
We did a bridesmaids first look for this wedding and I loved this mirror shot David got of the girls waiting! I crawled up under the girls for this toast photo because who doesn’t love champagne!
The instructions were to link arms and walk in a very narrow area, it was bound to go wrong but they laughed and did it anyway!
This photo while beautiful cracks me up! It took like 4 takes to not rip the veil off Amelia’s head and get it to billow! Right after I clicked the shutter it billowed off her head again!
Super duper new favorite here!!! Amelia looks AMAZING!!!! I love love love laughter photos and she makes it look perfect!
Garth was such a sweetie following all my directions and looking so dapper while doing it! I love how Amelia’s hair is escaping her updo and looks a bit wild just like her flowers!
Amanda Veronee knocked it out of the park with her head table floral structure! Amelia told me she had complete trust in Amanda and told her just make it awesome!
Can we just take a moment of appreciation for this cake by BonnBoni? 6 tiers people and look at that accent layer! I honestly felt intimidated and excited to photograph it because I wanted to do a good job! This is probably the most amazing cake I’ve ever seen in my life!!!
As a Marine wife you know I love a man in dress blues and I especially love all the details of a military uniform! Samantha Parkes Photography second shot this wedding for me and did a great job capturing Chris getting ready!
I love these little moments on a wedding day, especially with flower girls! At that age , he bride is a legit princess in their minds and I know they think of the day they can be one too!
Not one, not two but 4 men in Marine Dress Blues. I don’t think I need to say more ;)!
I’ve showed you guys some incredible bouquets I had this year and Ashley’s is just as stunning as the rest but so different! I love the darker tones and the hanging Amaranthus. The Floral Pallete did an outstanding job and wait till you see what they did in the reception space!
Can you believe Ashley made her wedding dress?!?!?! It’s true! She pieced together parts from different patterns and created her own design! I was shocked and so impressed!
I loved this trend of jewel tones and mismatched dresses! It looks so elegant and fun!
If it screams emotion you know I’m turning it black and white! This moment of Ashley’s sons hugging her before the ceremony put everyone around in tears!
What don’t you have an official Marine veil tosser? I bring one to every wedding 😉
So ya’ll know I’m a light and airy girl most of the time but man did this wedding send me head over heels in love with dramatic and moody!
So many heart eyes for this reception space!!! Glowy light, mirrors on the wall, farm tables, Chivari chairs, gold platters with navy napkins draped and candelabras of flowers! Stunning from start to finish!
All the reasons above and more!! So much pretty!
I adore this photo and I’m jealous I didn’t get it, lol! My fabulous second shooter and past bride Samantha Parkes Photography captured it and I love it!
