Engagement Rings Sets | Virginia Engagement Photographer
As a Virginia Engagement Photographer, I’ve photographed what feels like hundreds of rings! I’ve seen everything from your typical simple and traditional settings to rings with pink gemstones. Their sparkly goodness always has me teasing David that my ring might need an upgrade, just a jacket maybe to warm it up ;)!
I decided to dig back into my archives and grab some of the prettiest ring shots I’ve taken throughout my career. I thought this would be a quick and easy post, maybe 5-10 rings but there were so many amazing sparklers that it was like choosing a favorite child. So I chose a ridiculous amount to share with you today and maybe help inspire you in your ring shopping adventures!
Gentlemen if you aren’t sure what type of ring your girlfriend might like get her best friend to send her this link and see what strikes her fancy! Trust me she will find something to drool over, I promise! Now onto the sparkly goodness!

This gorgeous stunner from Natalie’s wedding is one of my top 5 favorites! I have nothing to say because it makes me drool just looking at it!
I loved getting to photograph Samantha’s custom Mrs. Box with her gorgeous ring inside! A beautiful ring box is the perfect backdrop for wedding day ring photos. Check out Etsy for more yummy ring boxes!
Ally’s pink petal shoes were the perfect backdrop to show off her simple and stunning ring set. This ring too made my top 5!
This gorgeous set is currently my computer wallpaper because I love not only the ring but the pink and blue flowers on the invitation below! I love being able to highlight two of my bride’s details in one shot. They accent each other quite nicely I think!
I have to say I patted myself on the back with this shot from Michelle & Erin’s wedding! The adorable map was from the venue and I thought the “I Do!” was the perfect spot to capture the rings!
Aly’s pearls made the perfect backdrop to showcase her rings! On the right this little Superman guy was an inside joke being passed around the wedding so I put him to work gaurding the rings!
It used to be classic was a diamond in a simple gold band but I’m realizing the new classic is a diamond in a delicate diamond band! Simple but Stunning!
Invitations and rings just go together! I get to play with different compositions to highlight not just the ring but the invite too.
I remember this started my sparkly background phase which I think I need to go back to! This was taken outside on a post in the parking lot so the bracelet covered up the boring background and made the whole image pop!
More creamy petal shoes, this time from Badgeley & Mischka to accent Michelle’s rock! Pro Tip make sure you tie the rings securely but not in a knot on the wedding day. Keep the ring bearer from losing it but make it easy on the best man! This is the perfect way to tie the rings on the right!
Pinnacle of sparkly background right here! I believe I used a gorgeous hairclip to set off Christa’s amazing ring!
A little darker and moodier for Kelly’s ring full of old world charm. The round setting is different but elegant all at the same time!
Glittery gold shoes added just the right sparkle to Caitlin’s ring shot!
Ring balancing is an art form I’ve worked hard to perfect. Not all rings balance the same, it really comes down to the sizes of the ring and will they fit together snug or loose. A tip I keep forgetting to use is to buy clear dental wax for ring shots and then you don’t have to hold your breath while shooting them for fear of knocking them down!
A simple decor prop in the getting ready room let me balance these beauties! I love how Amanda’s engagement ring is that classic plain band with a diamond but her wedding band adds pop and pizazz!
I love to use the rings to highlight my client’s names on their wedding invitations!
Jenn and Scott are HUGE West Virginia fans so it was only appropriate to incorporate it into their wedding somehow!
Trish went very non-traditional but super amazing with her pink engagement ring! I loved the simple Mr. & Mrs. dish holding Jodi & Michaels rings. Check Etsy for awesome ring dishes like that!
Hello Gorgeous! Rose gold with diamonds anyone? Why yes I’ll take that! April’s ring looks so dainty and delicate sitting in Justin’s brushed band.
Another round stunner! Check out that awesome cut on the diamond, the pattern on top is awesome!
I love the curved band of Jodi’s engagement ring, the twists just flow together till your eye lands on the diamond!
Thank you Paige, for making your custom monogram on your invitations the perfect size for your ring to fit! Sarah was married in a rustic barn so it felt right to incorporate some wooden elements into her ring shot!
A very cool square cut for Ashley’s engagement ring and again I love the lace backdrop of her ring box!
Pearls are always a wedding classic and they create an elegant backdrop for Jennifer’s ring. So much detail with the twisted band and the square diamonds!
I have a ring shot formula, place brides ring on her name, grooms ring on his name and the engagement ring on their new shared last name. Works every time!
How cool are Jena’s blue diamonds in her accent band?!?! I used Jessica’s rings to highlight the Leaning Tower of Pisa on her invitations which was the site of her proposal!
Cyndi’s bouquet made a great backdrop for her ring shot, so many beautiful diamonds!!
I remember being super proud of this ring shot because I balanced it on a straw in a glass and used my off-camera flash to light it up!
What makes the world go round? Diamonds do my friend! Katie & Katina both have excellent taste in engagement rings!
Shameless pandering to all my Hokie fans out there! I honestly can’t remember if this was Craig or Lauren’s ring because they both went to Tech but it was there on their wedding day carrying the Hokie pride with them down the aisle so it had to make my roundup!
