I don’t follow football, in fact I’m not even positive who is playing in the SuperBowl this year! I do pay a little bit of attention to the Redskins or as my Papaw calls them the Deadskins. My cousin Karen writes the funniest blog called Redskin Letters about being a Redskin fan, you have to go check it out whether you love them or hate them because she will make you laugh!! Back to the Superbowl, I have watched it in previous years just for the commercials because that is the time for the best of the best in advertising. I’m also guilty of flipping between The Puppy Bowl and the SuperBowl ads and skipping the football in between! C’mon whoever came up with the Puppy Bowl is a genius just like the person that came up with the Hot Guys and Baby Animals calendar. Sheer genius! Oh and the commercial where the guys rent puppies to pick up girls, LUV IT!!! I would fall for it every time, in fact my husband hooked me with pictures of his puppy on his ipod when we first me. Anyway I’m off track here so the point is that I don’t have typical SuperBowl plans, nope this year since I have no man in the house to force me to watch football I’m going completely in the opposite direction. Instead I’m getting together with my friend Rebecca and we are doing a marathon of Rich Bride Poor Bride, we expect it to be deliciously trashy television!! In fact we have a whole wedding theme going on with signature cocktails, petite hors d’ouevres and yes of course cupcakes!!! I even splurged for cupcakes from one of the local wedding cake bakeries The Icing!! These theme marathons are fast becoming a tradition and I love that we step it up with our food and beverage selections. I have to say I get totally hooked by the commercials for these types of shows. Last marathon was for Sister Wives and we went with a beer and pizza theme because the commercials made the show look pretty trashy but we were both surprised to find we actually liked the wives. The relationship between them was fascinating!!! So I wonder if Rich Bride Poor Bride will live up to the trashy hype or will I once again learn to love these crazy brides?
