So before my wedding when I was having all my dress fittings I drove past this gorgeous church on my way to my alterationist. It was awesome timing as I was doing a supervised study on the changing architecture of churches over the years. Long title but basically it meant I went out and and took pictures of pretty churches 😉 I shot B&W film that day and the cherry blossoms were in bloom so I got a great shot of the church framed by a cherry blossom branch. So the last time I drove by I had my digital camera in the car and the sky was a perfect blue so I stopped and took some pics. Hope you find this chuch as beautiful as I do!
This church was actually used during the Civil War as a hospital and Clara Barton tended wounded soldiers here. After her tenure here she came up with the idea for the Red Cross. Please check out the churches website at http://www.stmaryofsorrows.org/Permanent/about_the_church.htm for more history.
