When I say I want to be there for all the chapters in your love story this right here is exactly what I’m talking about! I have been truly honored to photograph Paige and Matt from engagement to wedding and now to their first born. This trip wasn’t just a job for me it was a chance to catch up with old friends over a glass of wine and the best fajitas I’ve had in my life!

This session was supposed to happen the weekend that Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. We were headed to SC to spend the weekend with David’s parents on the lake and I was set to fly out on Monday to Texas. The night before our trip Paige texted me that she still wasn’t in labor and they weren’t sure when he would arrive. The next morning while driving down I got the most beautiful text. It was a photo of Paige and Matt with their son!!! I was thrilled that he was there and the show could go on, lol!

At that point, my wonderful husband mentioned a hurricane headed towards Texas. Let me tell you something about my husband, he loves to joke around. In fact, this would have been a classic David move to freak me out which is why I did not believe him at first. Until I googled it and my heart sank. Despite being several states away I was officially on hurricane watch. Needless to say, we all know that yes the hurricane did hit. Luckily Paige and Matt and their beautiful baby boy were home safe and sound.

So instead we rescheduled for about 3 weeks later and it turned out beautifully! Seeing my wonderful clients turned friends as parents for the first time was perfect. Watching them embark on another chapter in their love story is what my business is all about. Although it doesn’t feel like a business it feels like a passion, a love for documenting happy moments!
