experience The Wedding

An honorary bridesmaid!

10 years, over 100 weddings, over 250 portraits sessions & more beautiful moments captured then I can count. I've learned that gorgeous photos start way before you get in front of the camera. They start by getting to know each other and your desires for your photographs.

Best Experience Possible

Over the last 10 years of photographing weddings, my goal hasn't changed. It has and will always be to give my clients the best experience possible and photos they will cherish! From tips & advice before the wedding to tying the perfect bow on the back of your dress before you walk down the aisle. You can think of me as an honorary bridesmaid who takes amazing photos!

Friendships

My favorite part of my job is the friendships I've made with my couples. I love being invited back into their lives when they become parents and documenting that next chapter of their story.

01.

Let's Chat

It all starts by getting to know each other online or in person over a glass of wine! My brides want more than just pretty photos, they want someone who makes them feel comfortable and has the experience to handle any wedding day crisis.

02.

Save The Date

Pop the champagne & cue the confetti, we are a match made in heaven! I'll send over a custom online booking quote where you can review your collection and pay the retainer. Welcome, I'm so excited to get to know you!

03.

Engagement Session

It all starts with your engagement session but really it starts before that. I'll send you my guide on what to wear so you both look stylish and coordinated. We'll pick a location with meaning to you as a couple and then I show you how to naturally pose so you still feel like yourselves! By the end of our session you'll feel like pros!

04.

Timeline

About 8 weeks before the big day I'll be in touch to finalize your timeline. It's okay if you have no idea what time things should start, that is where my 10 years of experience come into play. I'll help you create a custom timeline that allows us to get all the beautiful photos you want and let's you to enjoy the party!

05.

Your Wedding Day

It's finally here, the day you've been anticipating forever it seems! Now it's time for you to sit back and relax while I capture every moment. From getting ready with your besties to that moment you say I do and of course dancing the night away. I know you can't wait to see the photos so I always share sneak peeks before you head off on your honeymoon!

06.

Gallery & Album

Chill a bottle of champagne and sit back to enjoy the most beautiful wedding ever, starring you! See all the moments you might have missed plus the ones you want to remember over and over again in your online gallery. Don't forget to share it with friends and family! I believe every couple should invest in a wedding album and when you do you'll receive a custom design that you can personalize to make it perfect for you.

Do you edit every photo?

Every image that is delivered in your gallery is edited for color, contrast, and exposure.

What you see on my website is what your images will look like!

Additional retouching is also available as an added service.

How long will it take to see our photos?

I totally understand the excitement of reliving your day through your photos.

So I make sure to get you a sneak peek ASAP and then your full gallery is ready in 6-8 weeks.

Have you shot at our location before?

Chances are if you are getting married in Virginia then yes I have!

Over the last 8 years, I’ve photographed weddings in barns, ballrooms, private outdoor waterfronts, plantations and more.

So even if I haven’t shot at your venue, in particular, I’m sure I’ve shot someplace similar.

Plus I love new venues and getting to work with fresh eyes!

How much should we budget for wedding photography?

I believe the Knot and other wedding magazines will tell you 20% of your overall wedding budget should be spent on photography.

I think that is a good guideline to start with but remember you are in charge of what is most important in your budget.

I’ve had clients where photography is the most important item and they planned everything else around that.

Do I need to send you a shot list?

That depends! If you are thinking of the generic shot list magazines like the Knot provide then-No.

Their lists consist of basics like Bride walking down the aisle, I think after 8 years I’ve got that one down pat ;)!

If your favorite Aunt is going to be at the wedding and you want a photo doing your super secret handshake you made up together when you were 5 then Yes please let me know that!

About 6 weeks before your wedding you will fill out an information form asking all kinds of questions about who and what you want to make sure I photograph so we will be all set.

How do you choose the images you edit?

When editing a wedding I delete the duplicates, the blinkies, and the ugly faces.

We’ve all seen the famous Beyonce photos where she looks like a man on stage performing and we all know Bey does not look like a man!

I don’t want any of my couples to see an ugly photo of themselves so when choosing the images for your final gallery I make sure to choose the best and delete the rest.

But rest assured I’m not deleting important moments or important people, only duplicate photos, images where someone important is blinking and any face that is unflattering to my couple!

How many photos will we receive?

I typically deliver 75-100 images per hour for a wedding.

So for an 8-hour wedding, you are looking at 600-800 images.

How far do you travel?

That depends on where you want to get married! I’m always up for traveling to a new location.

For local Virginia weddings, 60 miles of travel is included in your collection.

For weddings requiring an overnight stay and/or a flight, you will be billed separate travel charges.
