It all starts by getting to know each other online or in person over a glass of wine! My brides want more than just pretty photos, they want someone who makes them feel comfortable and has the experience to handle any wedding day crisis.
10 years, over 100 weddings, over 250 portraits sessions & more beautiful moments captured then I can count. I've learned that gorgeous photos start way before you get in front of the camera. They start by getting to know each other and your desires for your photographs.
Best Experience Possible
Over the last 10 years of photographing weddings, my goal hasn't changed. It has and will always be to give my clients the best experience possible and photos they will cherish! From tips & advice before the wedding to tying the perfect bow on the back of your dress before you walk down the aisle. You can think of me as an honorary bridesmaid who takes amazing photos!
My favorite part of my job is the friendships I've made with my couples. I love being invited back into their lives when they become parents and documenting that next chapter of their story.
Every image that is delivered in your gallery is edited for color, contrast, and exposure.
What you see on my website is what your images will look like!
Additional retouching is also available as an added service.
I totally understand the excitement of reliving your day through your photos.
So I make sure to get you a sneak peek ASAP and then your full gallery is ready in 6-8 weeks.
Chances are if you are getting married in Virginia then yes I have!
Over the last 8 years, I’ve photographed weddings in barns, ballrooms, private outdoor waterfronts, plantations and more.
So even if I haven’t shot at your venue, in particular, I’m sure I’ve shot someplace similar.
Plus I love new venues and getting to work with fresh eyes!
I believe the Knot and other wedding magazines will tell you 20% of your overall wedding budget should be spent on photography.
I think that is a good guideline to start with but remember you are in charge of what is most important in your budget.
I’ve had clients where photography is the most important item and they planned everything else around that.
That depends! If you are thinking of the generic shot list magazines like the Knot provide then-No.
Their lists consist of basics like Bride walking down the aisle, I think after 8 years I’ve got that one down pat ;)!
If your favorite Aunt is going to be at the wedding and you want a photo doing your super secret handshake you made up together when you were 5 then Yes please let me know that!
About 6 weeks before your wedding you will fill out an information form asking all kinds of questions about who and what you want to make sure I photograph so we will be all set.
When editing a wedding I delete the duplicates, the blinkies, and the ugly faces.
We’ve all seen the famous Beyonce photos where she looks like a man on stage performing and we all know Bey does not look like a man!
I don’t want any of my couples to see an ugly photo of themselves so when choosing the images for your final gallery I make sure to choose the best and delete the rest.
But rest assured I’m not deleting important moments or important people, only duplicate photos, images where someone important is blinking and any face that is unflattering to my couple!
I typically deliver 75-100 images per hour for a wedding.
So for an 8-hour wedding, you are looking at 600-800 images.
That depends on where you want to get married! I’m always up for traveling to a new location.
For local Virginia weddings, 60 miles of travel is included in your collection.
For weddings requiring an overnight stay and/or a flight, you will be billed separate travel charges.
