The first time I met Rachel I had hair envy. I have always wanted to have curly hair, even now I find myself wistfully looking at those curly haired girls wishing my hair looked like that. I tried to achieve the same look with perms as a kid but more often then not I resembled a poodle. Rachel has the curly hair I love, it is so pretty! We met in the winter when it was still cold and she had an awesome scarf in addition to the gorgeous hair and I wished I could be as cool as she was. We chatted about her wedding, her fiancée Edwin and about wine! They met through mutual friends five years ago but it took two more years before they had their official first date. I can’t wait for her wedding this fall at King’s Family Vineyards!! There will be so many great handmade items at their wedding thanks to all the talent they have in their families and I’m excited to document it for them. I snapped a quick pick of some jewelry that Rachel makes and sells at Edwin’s shop The Virginia Wine Experience, I love how creative she is and her jewelry packaging was so unique! Next time you are downtown you should stop in for a a bottle of wine and check out Curley Bird Designs. I’m excited to see what she might whip up for her wedding day!
Since Rachel and Edwin are native to Downtown Fredericksburg I let them show me around their favorite spots. I had so much fun hanging out with these two, they were so playful and looked amazing through my camera. Edwin was an awesome location scout, he knows the in’s and out’s of downtown and had some great ideas for spots to do photos. Their wedding this fall will be perfect and after the hard time I had narrowing down photos from their engagement session I know their wedding will be even harder. Sometimes there are just so many awesome photos that I have to share them all!!
I want to give a big shout out to Kristen from GoGo Gorgeous Makeup for doing Rachel’s makeup, she was stunning!!! I highly recommend having a professional do your makeup for your wedding and if you can schedule your trial run to coincide with your engagement session or bridal portraits it works out even better! I plan to give Kristen a call later this month when I have photos taken!
